Educational PhilosophyWe understand that every child is unique. Every child has strengths and weaknesses. We believe that a good education should grow a child’s strengths and help them overcome their weaknesses through a positive realisation of the benefits of achieving their full potential.
We believe in discipline as a cornerstone for development, but we also define discipline in a goal-oriented way. At Ascend, expectations from teachers, students and their parents are clearly defined, with positive enforcement employed to direct our students to higher aspirations.
Values are at the centre of our institution – we believe that having a healthy understanding of the human being in the picture of creation helps to give every child meaning. We believe that a refusal to acknowledge a Creator opens the door to nihilism or meaninglessness. We therefore endeavour to cultivate faith in a Creator with the different cues in our environment.
In human life, schools play an important role in shaping children, and we aim to take the best of what schools have on offer and bring them to the core of our spirit, so that every child’s life is better because of being at Ascend.

We intend to provide children with a firm grounding in the basics of education – from reading, writing, numeracy, scientific thinking, art, computing and sports.
Once this is in place, we encourage children to spend their time learning – by exploring projects such as writing a book on a set topic, to building projects from their scientific imagination.
We also have a culture of reading by instituting age-appropriate class readers, where every child participates in reading activities. This helps children to develop a useful, lifelong habit. We start with fictional texts and launch into biographies of leading personalities in the world, helping children to explore different potential outcomes.

The admissions procedure requires a parent to fill out an application form and attach supporting documents on the child’s background. The student is then invited to the school for formal or informal assessments.
